News for September:

Classes have started at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center and there is still room: Two classes of eight weeks each. On Mondays at 9:30 AM (starting date October 2) we’ll see “Films Based on Myths, Legends, and Fairy Tales;” the series includes “Pygmalion,” Cocteau’s “Beauty and the Beast,” “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” and others. On Thursdays at 10 AM (start date September 28), “Films About Death and Dying,” in connection with other MSAC events this fall. This series will include “Wit,” “Truly Madly Deeply” the Japanese “After Life,” and “Never Let Me Go,” among others.

On October 24 (6:00) at the Aldrich Library in Barre, I’ll be showing and discussing “Selma,” as part of the Vermont Reads series: films related to Jacqueline Woodson’s “Brown Girl Dreaming.” Free admission.

In November,  monthly series will start again at both the Maple Corner Community Center and the Aldrich Library, Barre.
